Permanently moored at Lochrin Basin, a mere ten-minute walk from the bustling city of Edinburgh, The Four Sisters Boatel cuts quite a dash.

Unique to Edinburgh, and awarded four stars by the Scottish Tourist Board, the beautiful houseboat is painted in calming green on the outside, and is lined with warm, gleaming oak on the inside, for an irresistibly luxurious welcome.

There’s plenty of room to stretch out and relax in this boatel, too. A huge, purpose-built 55′ by 10’6, she sleeps up to four adults, two young children, and their well-behaved dog comfortably.

(With a double sofa bed in the living area, you could even invite two more guests, just in case you’re having trouble narrowing down who to bring!)

The boatel is equipped with all the facilities you’d expect from an opulent hotel suite, including a well-equipped kitchen and breakfast bar, two comfy double cabins that feature sumptuous bedding, and a shower room equipped with luxury eco-friendly toiletries.

Meanwhile, attention to detail reigns supreme throughout, with thoughtful accessories that include an electric massage chair, wireless headphones, a foot spa, and two folding bicycles for exploring the city.

Evenings in are well catered-for, too, with a selection of board games, a dedicated library for kids and grown-ups alike, and a 32-inch plasma TV with a DVD player – not to mention over 100 DVDs to choose from.

More information

If you can tear yourselves away, why not begin with a celebratory, ‘now we’re on holiday’ drink together on your scenic deck, enjoying the soothing atmosphere of the canal district?

Being so close to the city, it’d almost be a crime not to take that short stroll into Edinburgh’s Old Town, particularly when there’s so much to experience along the cobbled stretch of the famed Royal Mile.

You’ll discover Edinburgh Castle right at the top, dramatically perched on an extinct volcano. Peek at the crown jewels of Scotland, and prepare to be captivated by the castle’s turbulent history.

For a taste of traditional Scotland, the Scotch Whisky Experience shouldn’t be missed! A replica distillery that houses the world’s largest whisky collection (at no less than 3,500 bottles), you can learn all about the national drink – and of course, try a few snifters for yourself.

Indulge in all the vibrancy and fun the city has to offer, before retreating to your boatel for a sizzling sunset barbecue, and lively conversation with your favourite people, floating on the tranquil water without a care in the world.
