  • Minimum stay: 3-7 nights

The Boathouse Devon is a welcoming cottage that radiates with modern comfort and historic charm. Perfectly positioned on the cliffs above Lee Bay – a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the ocean has never looked quite so magnificent.

Sleeping up to four guests in two bedrooms, the sumptuous retreat is an ideal escape from everyday life, with soft-toned décor, bespoke wildlife photography, and well-chosen furniture designed for blissful relaxation.

Owners David and Tracy chose to name their beloved cottage in homage to its former use as a boathouse, storing vessels that took tourists out on fun-filled trips around the bay. They have also designed and curated the interiors themselves, to create an atmosphere that will make you feel immediately at home.

You’ll find the living space furnished with a plush sofa, a reading chair, and a warming wood-burning stove; ideal for snuggly evenings spent in front of the Smart TV, or simply catching up over drinks.

There’s a hand-crafted wooden dining table for mealtimes, although you may choose to greet the evening sunshine with a barbecued supper out on the scenic terrace, to a gentle soundtrack of ocean waves.

When it’s finally time to turn in, you’ll find your chosen bedroom boasts both ocean views and en-suite facilities that mean there’ll be no awkward queues in the morning. The master bedroom features a superking bed and a full bathroom, while the second room can be made into a superking or twin, with a gleaming shower room to freshen up in.

Meanwhile, the well-equipped kitchen comes complete with a Nespresso machine to help charge lazy mornings spent outside on the terrace… the morning sun glistening on the ocean is a jaw-dropping sight to behold.

What the guests of The Boathouse, Devon say

“We had such a special and memorable family break at the Boathouse – waking every morning to the stupendous views of the bay, watching the glow of the sun on the rocks through the porthole as it set every evening, and listening to the waves on the rocks at night was truly spectacular. The house itself is beautifully furnished and surpassed all our expectations.” Emma

“We loved our stay at the Boathouse. The location is absolutely stunning, and the house thoughtfully and beautifully renovated. We loved all of your recommendations, the scenic walks, the food, sea swimming, and generally getting away from the hustle of life! We look forward to returning again soon! Thank you so much for hosting us.” Nickie

“The Boathouse at Lee is superb. Very well furnished and equipped, the housekeeping was excellent, it was spotless when we arrived, with some nice touches. The Boathouse has a prime position, slightly elevated with views overlooking the entire bay, which is totally unspoilt. If peace and quiet and being off the beaten track is your thing then this is the place.” Chris
