The Round House Ilfracombe

Step back in time, to a grandly unique circular home that's ideal for group breaks with something to celebrate.
  • Sleeps: 10
  • Bedrooms: 5
  • Bathrooms: 2
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

Perfectly located next to the Cairn Nature Reserve, and with far-reaching views out towards the Bristol Channel from the very top, The Round House began life as something of a challenge!

Built in 1910, the striking house was created by a builder who had been set a specific task: to construct a completely round home.  He succeeded admirably, and the resulting Round House is now an exquisite setting for seriously special group breaks.

Approached by a sweeping drive, and surrounded by colourful landscaped gardens that are a frequent winner of ‘Ilfracombe in Bloom’, you can rest assured that your entrance will be suitably grand.

As you walk through the turreted entrance porch and into the stunning hallway, with its gleaming parquet flooring, feature ceiling, and Gothic-style doors, you’ll definitely be in the mood to celebrate!

The house boasts a wealth of immaculate style and elegance, period features and thoughtfully-chosen art and accessories throughout. The luxurious dining room is the perfect place for everybody to come together and break bread, with its Adam-style fireplace and ornate oak dining table.

Head for the sumptuous living room after that hearty meal, accompanied by a digestif and your favourite people. Surrounded by tasteful décor and a shining chandelier overhead, it’ll be ridiculously easy to relax.

There are five comfy bedrooms – three doubles and two twins – to choose from on the first floor, one with its very own adjacent TV ‘snug’ room. You’ll also discover a glorious art deco-style bathroom that’s perfect for freshening up in suitable style.
