The Bide Nest is the latest creation from owners Scott and Caroline, who built and styled The Bide Bothy themselves during the Covid-19 lockdown. Their love of design is both passionate and professional: Scott is a RIBA-registered architect, and Caroline has a background in high-end furniture buying.
As such, The Bide Nest is detail-rich and sumptuously beautiful both inside and out, with indigo-blue cladding, opulent creature comforts, and magnificent views over a peaceful, picture-perfect Dorset copse.
(No wonder that most guests choose to down tools and stay put for the entire duration of their break!).
Everything you’ll need for a luxurious and romantic escape is provided, including a kingsize bed with a super-comfy Naturalmat mattress, and a cinema projector – complete with a MUBI account – for epic movie nights in. If you’re feeling competitive, you can break open a board game instead!
There’s a well-equipped kitchenette, too, stocked with cooking essentials and coffee by local roasters Bad Hand… ideal for cradling a steaming mug out on the deck, surrounded by fresh morning air and calming birdsong.
Linger outside awhile, getting lost in good conversation or a good book (books and a hammock are provided for that very purpose) or firing up the sleek Gozney Arc pizza oven for a mouth-watering, home-cooked lunch. There’s a firepit to keep you warm as the sun sets, and an outdoor bath for indulgent starlit soaks.
If you prefer an invigorating shower, no problem. There’s a stylish shower room back inside your Nest, with soaps and shampoo provided.

A 30-minute hike across lush fields will lead you to the award-winning village farm shop (who also supply the delicious breakfast boxes that can be pre-ordered for your stay), along with a friendly coffee shop that serves full English breakfasts… perfect if you’ve decided not to cook!
Slightly further afield, head to Kimmeridge on the Jurassic World Heritage Coast for breezy walks and summertime bathing, or to Hauser and Wirth in Somerset, just under an hour’s drive away: a former farmstead that’s now home to an eclectic programme of art exhibitions and events.
Things to note
Local produce breakfast boxes can be pre-ordered for your stay. Unfortunately, as the site is a working farm with livestock in the surrounding fields, pets cannot be permitted to stay. There is a short walk from the car park to the cabin, with a trolley provided for luggage – please bring a torch for navigating the rural paths at night.
