Embark on an adventure of discovery and a chance to learn about the natural world that is so often on our doorstep yet unappreciated.  A stay in the Secret Shelters at The Secret Campsite is one that will help you connect with your environment once more.  Each ‘Escapee’ or visitor to the Shelters receives an Escapee Handbook packed with hints and tips on: campsite life; spotting wildlife such as pipistrelle bats, hawk moths, owls, deer and stoats; awakening the senses to outdoor life, and a useful map of the local area.

The Shelters themselves are brilliantly unique and exciting. A suspended spherical Tree Tent, similar to a harvest mouse nest is the first of its kind in the UK and was featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces. It comes with 3 single built-in beds, its own campfire area, cut-grass relaxation area and utensils are available to rent. From its windows you’ll enjoy views out to South Downs National Park.

A Gridshell crafted from ash wood combines with heavy duty canvas to form another unusual shelter. As the shelters were fitted in collaboration with local inventor and designer Jason Thawley, following your stay there is even the option to purchase a bespoke Shelter of your very own!   Meanwhile,  The Okra is a bold, 5-sided structure, wood-clad and accommodating up to three guests in double sixed bunks, with a small day sofa for relaxing. It also comes with its own private decked area and fire pit.

From 2022, an innovative new ‘work from nature’ remote working concept has been launched by owner Tim, called The Secret Office.  Simply choose a date, a preferred space to work from and add in a co-working desk space. The office space provided is fully equipped, quiet and spacious, and includes free tea and coffee – aside from the glorious setting of course!
