The Tree Tent 1 bedroom, with shared campsite facilities. Sleeps 3.
The suspended spherical Tree Tent nestles in three sturdy oak trees. The clear rooftop offers a view of green leaves and a blue sky, whilst the windows compel you to enjoy the view over the campsite and surrounding woodland. The Tree Tent has three single built-in beds, a decking area perfect for a quiet drink and its own campfire and cut grass relaxation area below complete with picnic table and two eclectic wooden fireside seats.
The Gridshell- 1 bedroom, with shared campsite facilities. Sleeps 5
Made from curved ash wood and heavy canvas, the Gridshell is perfect for those wanting a canvas experience without the drag of putting up a tent. It offers a private fire pit, living willow dining canopy with picnic bench and a large grassy cut grass pitch.
The Okra – 1 bedroom, with shared campsite facilities. Sleeps 4
A five-sided hand built wooden “cabin” The Okra offers a great spot for up to four guests in two double beds /bunks. There’s a small day sofa for relaxing and outside is a private decked area with a secluded firepit on a large grassy grass pitch and a picnic bench.
All three of these incredible Secret Shelters are designed by Jason Thawley and were featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces TV programme in 2013 and again in 2023.
Whichever Shelter you choose, you will be guaranteed an immersive experience in nature and wildlife. The meadow and orchard are shared with many varieties of butterflies, bats, glowworms, moths and birds.
A newly built Wash House offers spacious showering and toilet facilities. This has been built with a low carbon approach using mainly, local and recycled materials. Even the toilets flush with rainwater – a true eco-friendly escape.
