Secluded in the Hampshire village of Hambledon, every stay at Rushmere Farm Holiday Cottages funds a devoted commitment to ecologically sustainable, community-focused farming that allows nature to thrive.

Proudly carbon negative, the family-run cereal farm grows healthy, organic food whilst running workshops, tours, and volunteer days: all with the intention of giving back wherever possible. A share of its income supports refugees without work, while if you choose to arrive car-free, you’ll receive 25% off your stay.

Better still, you’ll get to choose your favourite retreat from a diverse collection that includes cosy yurts, a stylish shepherd’s hut, and expertly-converted pig sheds.

Occupying its own private space, Woodland Yurt faces a field of wildflowers, with a backdrop of ancient woodland… ideal for spotting the local deer and woodpeckers. Perfect for a small family, there’s a cosy wood-burning stove inside, while facilities include a kitchen shack and a composting loo.

Also ideal for a small family, the Mongolian-style Farmyard Yurt overlooks the farm paddocks in a sociable space that also includes the shepherd’s hut and campsite, along with shared facilities. A double bed and two single mattresses ensure sound nights of rest, and there’s a firepit and barbecue for lazy evenings chatting under the emerging stars.

Gloriously rustic and irresistibly homely, the Shepherd’s Hut is a stylish sanctuary for two. Equipped with a comfy double bed, a gas hob and a sink, you can curl up by the wood-burning stove for snuggly evenings in.

You could also opt to stay in one of three contemporary, single-level Pigshed Cottages, named Motley, Spot, and Curly, which occupy their own, wide-open, yard space. Powered by renewable energy, the light-filled, open-plan cottages each boast a comfortable living area with a double sofa bed, a kingsize bedroom, and full kitchen and bathroom facilities.

What the guests of Rushmere Farm Holiday Cottages say

“Rushmere Farm and Hambledon are both lovely, peaceful places to spend a few days. We stayed in one of the converted pig sheds. Curly, which was welcoming and cosy, beautifully clean and well appointed. The kitchen had all you’d expect-hob/oven, toaster and kettle plus a dishwasher. We also found complimentary Toats oat milk in the fridge, plus tea, coffee and granola on arrival. The bed was very comfortable as was the sofa bed and the bathroom was clean and had a very nice shower. The accommodation was perfect for a little family of 3. The hill up and down to the village is a great workout and there are many other nice walks. We didn’t manage a farm tour this time but it’s top of the list for when we return!”

“Hello, I’m just writing to say what a wonderful night we had in the shepherd’s hut! We loved the natural feel, the fresh flowers and the candles. We liked being able to throw the stable door open in the morning and look out over the fields while we had breakfast in bed. It was a very special little stay, and we look forward to visiting again!”

“Second time in the yurt with my partner. We visited 3 years ago and we were pleasantly surprised at the upgrades made to the outside surrounds and inside of the yurt since our last visit. Lovely comfy bed, log burner to warm the cold evenings, plenty of wood and kindling provided, eco loo was clean and easy to find. Gas hob and cups, bowls, plates, pans all provided was a lovely touch. We were up early and watched the sunrise from the nearby field where a curious deer stalked us from a few 100 feet away. It was a lovely sight and so peaceful. We visit with the intention of having no electronics for the weekend and it has been such a reset from our daily lives. I can’t wait to be back already.”
