Rifugio di Vino is peacefully secluded in the lush Lazio hills, for an idyllic escape focused on reconnection, wellness… and wine!

Here you’ll discover a small and exclusive collection of oak-crafted, air-conditioned wine barrels, each sleeping two guests in romantic and rustic comfort (with a sofa bed accommodating one child). Inside awaits a cosy double bed for sound nights of slumber, snug seating for long, laughter-fuelled conversations, and clever storage space. Private bathroom facilities, including a shower and WC, are included, too.

With everything you’ll need for a relaxing break so gainfully on hand, you’re free to do just whatever you like. Unwind in the glorious green outdoor space, getting lost in a good book or chatting with new friends as you admire the soothing sights and sounds of nature.

If you’re in the mood to be pampered, the dedicated wellness area will help you while away some precious holiday time. There’s a Finnish sauna and a wood-fired hot tub, ready and waiting to calm and rejuvenate weary souls.

A delicious breakfast is served each morning, created from the freshest local produce – a perfect way to start the day. You could also reserve a spot in La Foresta Restaurant, just a short wander away from your glamping barrel, to feast on a creatively-prepared gourmet dinner in beautiful natural surroundings.

Of course, since you’re staying in a wine barrel, it would almost be rude not to sample the wine itself! There is a selection of guided wine tours to choose from, at the on-site Cantina Le Macchie winery. Some include a delicious lunch or dinner served at La Foresta, which is particularly ideal if you’re celebrating something special.

Otherwise, you’ll take an easy, guided walk through the vineyards, learning about different grape varieties and sustainable farming practices as you go. Then you’ll head to the cellar, which has roots tracing back to the 1400s. Here, you’ll witness the wine-making process up close, with barrels, fermentation tanks, and aging rooms all on display.
