Plas Dolguog sleeps up to 21 lucky guests (and their four dogs): an impossibly elegant country mansion elevated over the Dyfi Valley in the foothills of Snowdonia, for striking rural views.
Rich in history and heritage, the oldest dwelling recorded on this site dates all the way back to the 6th century, though the mansion itself was constructed in the 1500s. There are plenty of original features and architectural flourishes to marvel at, along with well-crafted extensions from the 1750s, to make you feel like VIPs from the moment you arrive.
The grand reception hall sets an opulent scene, leading you to the main living spaces… where a wealth of wonder awaits!
Adorned with glistening chandeliers, the dining room boasts tables that are perfect for laughter-fuelled meals all together, with wooden flooring and ornate décor to suit the finest celebrations. After your meals, relax with a digestif in the inviting lounge, with deep sofas and armchairs specifically arranged for immersive conversations that last long into the night.
There’s a conservatory for morning coffee powered by early daylight and rolling green garden views, and a delightful bar for experimental evening cocktails (a selection of drinks can even be pre-ordered with the owner, so you won’t have to stock up on your way).
The designated chef in your group will love the rustic country kitchen, with its overhead beams, tiled flooring and gleaming appliances. It’s a large and sociable space for others to help out with meal preparation (perhaps with a glass of wine in hand!), with a wooden dining table for chatting over lazy breakfasts.
You’ll find ten beautiful bedrooms upstairs, with en-suite facilities that put paid to midnight dashes and morning queues. Perfect for a small family, there’s a kingsize bedroom with a separate interconnecting room, while the rest of the bedrooms are a convenient mix of kingsize, doubles, and one single.
