An idyllic retreat for escaping the world, Perry Pond Cabin is beautifully secluded by a stream-fed wildlife pond with its very own small waterfall, on a 23-acre farm.

Committed to sustainability, the farm’s owners Tom and Suzie farm their land organically, as well as planting new woodland, re-planting hedges, and creating new wildlife ponds. This means you’ll be treated to superlative natural views that lead your gaze over the soaring, wooded Exe Valley hills, right from the comfort of the cabin’s private deck.

You’ll also find the solar-powered retreat furnished with vibrant colours, sumptuous fabrics, and striking original features (including a glorious Mughal arch) inspired by Tom and Suzie’s travels through India: a country they both fell instantly in love with and still visit regularly.

And as if all that wasn’t quite enough, you’ll also have an al fresco roll top bathtub to luxuriate in as the sun sets, glass of bubbles in hand as you listen to the rushing of the waterfall and the myriad sounds of wildlife.

Perfect for a romantic couple, there’s a downy kingsize bed to curl up in as the owls hoot their nightly lullabies, and a soft-glowing woodburner to warm evenings snuggled up on the sofa.

(Why not crack open a board game, or simply pour another glass of wine as you get lost in the kind of deep, laughter-fuelled conversations you never seem to find time for at home?)

Holiday facilities, meanwhile, include a well-equipped kitchen – though on balmy evenings, you’re bound to prefer cooking a sizzling supper on the barbecue firepit! – and an indulgent shower room with toiletries, robes, and fluffy towels all provided.

What to do once you’ve settled in? Ease your way into a new day with some rejuvenating morning yoga, mats conveniently on hand, or take an energising dip in the nearby swimming ponds.

Pack a picnic and explore the woodland, or venture out to Thorverton’s farm shop to stock up on delicious local produce. You could choose to take the five-minute walk to Rull Orchard for a spot of cider-tasting, while Tom and Suzie also recommend the local pub, The Ring of Bells, for award-winning dining washed down with a local beer or two.

Centrally located for you to explore Devon’s bustling cities and market towns, including Exeter and Tiverton, you won’t be short of new local places to explore during your stay.

Check in from 4pm, check out by 10am. Pets and children are not permitted. Please bring a torch, walking boots, and warm clothes. An EV charger is available on request. The owners live on-site in their farmhouse, 80m from the cabin.
