A luxuriously romantic royal suite in a medieval castle on the unspoilt Scottish Borders, with the River Tweed rushing gently below.
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 1 night

Bursting with historic tales, Neidpath Castle dates back many centuries, and its rugged stone walls remain as soothingly unchanged as the majestic, rolling views of the Scottish Borders beyond.

The beautifully preserved castle can boast an array of distinguished visitors over hundreds of years, the most celebrated being Mary, Queen of Scots herself, who stayed there in August 1563.

A stay at the Neidpath Castle therefore means walking in royal footsteps, as you take in views of the River Tweed from the battlements, observe the stunning archways and intricate carvings, and explore the extensive, wildlife-steeped grounds.

And if that wasn’t enough, you and your loved one will rest your heads in Queen Mary’s Chamber, an exclusive, pet-friendly suite that blends historic elements with sumptuous 21st century luxury.

Surrounded by exposed walls, vintage furniture, and mesmerising historic artefacts, you can relax on squishy sofas, light the log fire, and unwind just as Queen Mary did, after her exhausting tour of south-west Scotland.

Thoughtful treats include natural skincare products and fine, locally crafted chocolates to savour. There is also a wealth of modern comforts to help you enjoy your stay to the fullest, including a coffee machine, a fridge, and plenty of piping hot water…

…so why not open a bottle of wine, and fill the deep rolltop bath with indulgent bubbles? An antique four-poster bed will be waiting for you when it’s finally time to turn in.
