Set amongst 35 acres of unspoilt, wildlife-rich woodland that’s gently illuminated at night, here you can be truly at one with nature… being as private or as sociable as you like. And although the brighter lights of Bristol are just 15 minutes away, you’ll feel like you’ve escaped the confines of hectic everyday life entirely.

Make your choice from one of four lovingly-restored retreats, each with self-contained facilities and perfectly suited to couples, families, and friends. Once the family home to a circus ringmaster, The Showman’s is a touring apartment like no other!

Sleeping a family of up to five, you can relax on the large woodland-and-lake-view terrace, in the private wood-fired hot tub, or amongst quirky bohemian décor inside. Full-length windows flood your surroundings with natural light, while the antique wood-burner will keep your evenings perfectly toasty.

Newest on the Nature’s Spectacular scene, the awe-inspiring lakeside Land Yacht comprises a gleaming Airstream ‘cabin’ ingeniously sculpted onto a vintage Mercedes truck… a unique and mesmerising retreat for a family of four (two adults and two children) – with extra space for two guests on the comfy sofa.  Hint: the fun cab bedroom features buttons and window-winders – perfect for big and little kids alike!

Enjoying complete privacy and full self-contained facilities, you’re free to laze on the spacious, hand-built terrace and take in views to the Mendips, or relax amongst the colourful retro-style furnishings inside.  Telling stories by the crackling firepit is a must, of course… and there’s a private hot tub if you’re in the mood for an extra stargazing treat.

Yurt Lush is perfect for a group of four adults; a former Bristol restaurant and events venue, now sumptuously restyled with underfloor heating and a cedar-clad bathroom extension that features a luxurious rolltop bathtub. Oh, and not to mention a sun deck that boasts the most superlative lake views.

Meanwhile, Deer Cabin is a unique escape that’s perfect for two adults and two children; expertly crafted from a recycled train carriage, and boasting full facilities and an enormous sun deck. Why not treat yourselves to a dip in the private wood-fired hot tub as evening rolls around?

Open exclusively in summer, Fire Circle Camp is a soothing group getaway, comprising four furnished bell tents deliciously hidden away in the illuminated woodland for the perfect re-introduction to nature.  You’ll have your very own central firepit and communal kitchen area, with picnic tables and compost loos… oh and acres of beautiful greenery and woodland to explore at your leisure.

Once you’re all settled in, you’ll have a choice: relax in your chosen retreat, or get out and explore the camp! Take an energising woodland walk, or chat with friends you haven’t met yet in the viewpoint area; festooned with picnic benches and firepits that overlook that shimmering lake.

The camp’s friendly owners are happy to arrange pre-ordered food deliveries to help you whip up in-retreat feasts. There’s also a pub within walking distance, and an array of shops and restaurants within a mere five-minute drive.

Also a short drive away are popular hotspots including the World Heritage city of Bath and the world-renowned Cheddar Gorge. Yet you may feel so relaxed in the arms of Nature’s Spectacular, that you won’t want to leave.

Things to note

Check in from 4pm, check out by 11am. Additional tents can be pitched by some retreats at the owners’ discretion only. Bedding is provided for the main beds; please bring additional bedding for sofa beds and children’s beds. Well-behaved dogs are permitted in The Showman’s, Deer Cabin, Land Yacht, and Yurt Lush by prior agreement and at an additional charge.
