Les Cabanes du Loup Bleu (The Blue Wolf Cabins) is a unique collection of eco-retreats for couples and families, magnificently nestled at the foot of the Tanargue Massif; part of the UNESCO-designated Monts d’Ardèche Global Geopark.
Here await diverse and breath-taking scenes of wild nature, together with fresh local produce and a warm French welcome from your host, Caroline, in a memorable stay to inspire the senses.
Choose from three unusual and lovingly-crafted retreats, all of which include private bathroom facilities and a delicious breakfast served each morning (including freshly-baked waffles and homemade chestnut jam… magnifique).
The Chestnut (2+2 guests) is expertly moulded from wood and copper, to resemble a ripe chestnut in the surrounding grove! Perfect for a couple or small family, there’s a double and twin beds, and a sumptuous al fresco terrace for stargazing and nature-watching alike.
You’ll find The Blue Tower (2+2 guests) set on ancient stone walls, with plentiful windows – and an elevated terrace – that showcase incredible views of peacefully grazing horses and the Haut-Lignon valley beyond.
Last but by no means least, The Wolf (2 guests) is an idyllic couple’s escape, perfectly formed from an old stone house once used for chestnut-drying. Your private terrace is ‘guarded’ by a beautifully-sculpted she-wolf, so your stay will be nice and magical!
You’ll find many more of Caroline’s remarkable sculptures strewn across the four-hectare site, adding a magical fairytale feel to these wild and wonderful surroundings. You can even book a place on a creative summer workshop to start work on your very own masterpiece, if you feel so inspired.

Otherwise, laze by the swimming pool or take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear Lignon river, just moments away. If the weather turns bad, the communal Workshop is home to all the facilities you could want – cosy furniture and a wood-burning stove, a fully-equipped kitchen and outdoor grill, free Wi-Fi, board games, a movie projector… and even a pole-dancing bar!
If you’re in the mood to explore, there’s a world of natural wonders right on the doorstep. Lace up your hiking boots and take the mesmerising, five-stage Watershed Trail through the Monts d’Ardèche, embark on a canoeing expedition, or arrange a horse-riding journey with Caroline to really get under the skin of this incredible part of the world.
Things to note
Some retreats can accommodate a cot on request. The swimming pool is open from June to September, from 11am to 6pm. Swimming is unsupervised. Please see the property website for details about creative workshops held on site during summer.
