Originally created as office space by and for the geologist Bruce Black, this imposing 1700 square foot cave is a geological marvel, blasted out of the vertical cliffs of Ojo Alamo Sandstone and furnished with electricity, running water and all the amenities you’ll need for a cosy and secluded stay.

Enjoy spectacular sunsets over the La Plata River Valley below, not to mention the four states of Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado, from the cave and the expansive cliff top.  The surrounding 360 acres of land are rugged and natural, complete with pine trees, desert plants and absolutely no houses or shops. Indeed, you’ll feel as though you’ve successfully shaken off all the demands of your stressful daily life!

Head inside to be greeted by soft carpets, a spacious bedroom and a comfy living area complete with fireplace.  There’s also a well-equipped kitchen and a beautiful waterfall shower – oh, and a Jacuzzi.

A continental breakfast is provided each morning…and you may want to save some treats for the visiting ring-tailed cats, squirrels and chipmunks.  Afterwards, jump in the car and take in some of the amazing local monuments, including ancient Aztec ruins, Chaco Canyon and Mesa Verde. You’ll feel like a native in no time at all!
