Perfect for small families and their beloved pets, Kirkbymoorside Windmill is a quirky and welcoming retreat for up to four guests.

You’ll find the converted mill nestled in the ancient North Yorkshire village of Kirkbymoorside, perfectly situated to admire the daffodils at Farndale and explore the North York Moors National Park at your leisure.

Accommodation is generously spaced across four floors, with quirky circular rooms and beamed ceilings. (Our tip: choose the top-floor bedroom if you adore a genuine room with a view!). The ground-floor living room is spacious and cosy for casual evenings in, or if the sun is shining, head out to the patio for drinks and conversation in the fresh, open air.

There’s a small courtyard for summertime barbecues, as well as gazing across to the neighbouring paddocks and prize-winning flower garden… a true feast for the eyes!

Back inside, the first floor is home to a well-equipped kitchen and dining room, along with a rainfall shower for freshening up after a long day out. And with bike storage handily included here, there’s plenty of scope to explore.

The village is strewn with friendly pubs and independent shops, or ramble your merry way through the Moors. You could even head to the coast and savour a slap-up fish-and-chip supper at nearby Whitby, if the mood should strike – and it’s more than likely to!
