Spectacularly elevated in a peaceful Scottish village, Jack Strawbale House is a welcoming, eco-friendly Scandi-style retreat that showcases the fairytale Highland scenery to perfection.
Sleeping up to four guests, full disabled facilities and wheelchair access means nobody has to miss out on a spellbinding break at this refreshingly minimalist, cruck-framed lodge.
With the shimmering Loch Sunart and the rolling Morvern Hills as your mesmerising vista, you can catch up and unwind together on the lower deck. Here you’ll discover an al fresco seating area with squishy loungers, a sheltered hot tub for sunset-watching, and a chimenea to keep you cosy as the stars appear.
Don’t worry if the weather isn’t up to outdoor relaxing, though, as floor-to-ceiling south-facing windows mean you’ll still be able to savour the view, as you cradle a steaming mug of something lovely.
There’s also a huge first-floor balcony, accessed by a spiral staircase (or a wheelchair lift), and a stunning open plan living, dining, and kitchen space that occupies the entire floor.
Challenge your loved ones to a fun board game, kick back with your favourite shows on the Smart TV, or keep an eye on the stars – and the abundant local wildlife – through the telescope.
When it’s time to dine, you can whip up feasts to remember in the well-equipped kitchen, which also features a TV (handy if you’re following a live Nigella or Jamie recipe!) and a sociable breakfast bar for casual chats over morning coffee.

Meanwhile, the second bedroom can be made into a kingsize or a twin, and comes complete with a walk-in shower and an indulgent bath… simply fill with bubbles, grab a good book, and relax!
After a sound night’s sleep, why not head out and explore the local area? The village of Strontian means “nose of the fairy hill” in English, and there’s plenty of magical forest scenery to get beautifully lost in.
Bustling Fort William – the gateway to Ben Nevis – is close by, though if you’d rather not stray too, there’s a pub and restaurant just over a mile away… ideal for holing yourselves up after those long, bracing walks! There are some wonderful beaches just a short drive away, too.
Whichever activity you choose, you’re sure to make cherished memories that last for a long time to come.
