Star Wars fans rejoice: you can stay in an awe-inspiring cave-hotel used for some of the films’ iconic settings – including the Skywalkers’ home.

Nestled in southern Tunisia, Hotel Sidi Idriss boasts cosy rooms carved directly into the earth for a fascinating glimpse into the ancient Berber way of life. The hotel blends beautifully with the rugged desert landscape, as well as offering comfortable protection from the outside elements.

Choose from a double cave (4 guests) or a triple cave (6 guests), each of which boast rustic Berber-style furnishings and traditional troglodyte architecture, along with simple bathroom facilities. You’ll also find Star Wars-themed art and memorabilia carefully dotted throughout the hotel… a photograph-ready must for die-hard fans!

Congregate with new friends at the hotel’s restaurant, which serves simple and irresistibly hearty Tunisian cuisine in a relaxed communal setting. If you’re in the mood to explore, there’s plenty to discover in the nearby Berber villages, and guided desert tours are readily available. You could also try your hand at sandboarding, if you’re up for a challenge.
