A perfect place from which to plan an epic rural quest, Hive and Spruce is a turf-covered, irresistibly comfy studio retreat for two. Up to two well-behaved dogs are also welcome, so nobody has to stay behind at home.

Secluded in the Mendip Hills, among rolling Somerset fields, you’ll be achingly close not only to the historic market town of Frome, but the exquisite villages of Kilmersdon… home to Jack and Jill’s famous hill. Cheddar Gorge and its mystical caves, plus the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath, are nearby, as is glorious Glastonbury.

There’s clearly much to discover, if you can only tear yourselves away from your cosy haven to experience it! Equipped with everything you’ll need for a relaxing break, there’s a spacious open-plan dining, kitchen and living area, along with a downy double sleeping space and a shower room to freshen up in.

Outside awaits a garden for your four-legged friends to run around in (or just for lazy afternoon lounging), and a firepit for dreamy stargazing and marshmallow-toasting at the end of a hard day’s exploring.

What else? There’s a barbecue for sizzling suppers, and a sheltered hot tub for toasting your good holiday fortune over a well-deserved glass of bubbles.
