Sleeping up to four people, The Roundhouse is a beautifully unusual cottage, lovingly crafted with care and found at the end of the Mendip Hills, near the picturesque village of Stratton-on-the-Fosse.  Positioned within 40 acres of working farmland, there is plenty of fresh adventure to be found in the nearby woodlands, and plenty of friends to make among the farm animals!

26′ in diameter, The Roundhouse is light, spacious and welcoming, offering the most amazing setting for a holiday with a rural difference, not to mention plenty of scope to indulge your creativity with its imaginative interior.

Inside, the ground-level accommodation is yurt-like in style and design, with a real feeling of warmth and relaxation throughout.   An exquisite living area awaits you, complete with cosy sofas to curl up on – and with no television or WiFi to distract you, you can enjoy plenty of precious time reconnecting with those you love the most.

A traditional 1940s Rayburn will keep everybody toasty no matter what the weather is like outside, while a charming fitted kitchen and dining area provides the perfect setting for you to catch up on life, whilst enjoying plenty of fresh farm produce.

A covered patio with barbecue is the ideal viewing platform for looking out over fresh green fields, watching the golden sunset with a glass of wine in hand and a succulently sizzling meal ready to be devoured al fresco!  For a night time treat, gazing up at the stars in an clear, unpolluted night sky is hard to beat.

When it’s time to turn in, discover a beautiful four poster bed, created from ash coppiced from the farm’s woodland for an extra touch of romantic luxury, along with two folding beds available on request.  Freshen up and indulge your senses all at the same time in the delightful en-suite bathroom, equipped with a bijou roll-top bath and shower attachment.  Further along you’ll find a well-positioned boot room with compost toilet.

You may feel so cosy inside your rural roundhouse retreat that you decide not to venture outside at all!  If you do, you’ll find a whole world of invigorating countryside to explore right from your doorstep.  Why not stock up on free range eggs and pork direct from the farm, then take a stroll through the woodlands and the valley?

Those feeling up to a longer ramble can tackle Mendip Hills, or perhaps grab your bicycle and cruise along the roads to Mells – picturesque home of nursery rhyme favourite Little Jack Horner.

If you’re in the mood to shop ‘til you drop, no problem!  The cities of Bath and Wells are a short and simple drive away from The Roundhouse.  For a more soulful experience, why not pack up a picnic and discover mystical Glastonbury, or take in the views at Cheddar Gorge? If you’re feeling brave enough, you could even go and meet the witch at Wookey Hole Caves!

Things to note

No pets permitted, smoking is not permitted, travel cot, highchair and two folding beds may be requested upon booking, the property is a working farm with animals roaming so children should be supervised at all times.
