Henrietta at Eden Valley Glamping

Henrietta at Eden Valley Glamping

All aboard a nostalgic Art Deco-styled replica railway carriage with first-class facilities, peacefully secluded in a sheep-dotted Cumbrian field where life is slow, simple, and beautiful.
  • Sleeps: 2
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 2 nights

A great deal of thought has been put into every last detail at Eden Valley Glamping, ensuring that guests can feel free – literally – to relax, recharge, and revel in live lived slowly, simply, and deeply.

Owners Dave and Liz were inspired to create their peaceful haven in Cumbria after travelling through Zambia supporting community projects. There, they realised the benefits of a more slowed-down, creative and focused life, free of digital distraction. With a little help from the BBC’s Escape to the Country, Eden Valley Glamping was born!

Along with three luxury en-suite glamping pods, Henrietta is the site’s latest addition: a timber-crafted, empire green-hued replica railway carriage that evokes the nostalgic romance of travelling by steam train… first class all the way.

Built on her very own platform, Henrietta boasts full self-contained facilities and ornate Art Deco styling for added luxury. Expertly-created features include an arched roof, vintage railway signage, and even a working communication cord in the sumptuous double bedroom (the cord rings a bell in the lounge – ideal for those times when emergency refreshments are needed!)

Said lounge comes equipped with a cosy sofa and a soft-glowing woodburner to warm evenings chatting over a glass of wine or two. In the mood for a snack? The charming kitchen comes complete with everything you’ll need to rustle up delicious railside catering.

Freshen up in the double-ended bath – just waiting to be filled with indulgent bubbles! – which also includes a shower attachment. There’s an on-board loo, and even a heated towel rail (fluffy towels included) for chilly mornings.

Cradle your morning coffee or evening G&T out in Henrietta’s private garden area, complete with serene sheep-and-valley views. There’s a barbecue for sizzling suppers, and a firepit for storytelling and stargazing later on.
