Carved into a caldera cliff on the Greek island of Santorini over 250 years ago, Hector Cave House began life as a wine cellar.

Now an exquisite retreat for up to five guests, the light, bright cave house is beautifully furnished, and fully equipped with everything you’ll need for a relaxing island break.

Not that you’ll be spending a great deal of time inside, when your private veranda boasts such spectacular views of the sparkling sea, all the way out to the volcanic island of Therasia.

Oh – and from April to October, you’ll be able to take a cooling sunset dip in your very own plunge pool.

With an array of shops, restaurants, and cafés in walking distance, you can immerse yourselves completely in the island’s traditional charm.

(Yet you’ll have to leave the comfort and beauty of your cave house first, and that could prove much harder than you think!)
