Pyrgos is also home to Demeter Cave House, a gloriously romantic, adults-only hideaway for two.
Named after the Greek goddess of agriculture and fertility, you can expect the ultimate in Greek style from your stunning cave, with its vaulted Cycladic interiors, authentic curved whitewashed walls, and understated Scandi-chic furnishings.
Relax in the domed, light-flooded open plan living, kitchenette and dining area, filled with plump patterned cushions, bespoke furniture, and hand-made local ceramic lamps for a soft evening glow. There’s even a Smart TV with Netflix, to help cosy evenings in along.
If we’re being honest, we’re not sure you’ll be using the kitchenette all that much, with so many amazing places to eat and drink almost on your doorstep! But if you prefer dining in, you’ll find a gorgeous marble sink and a two-ring hob above pine-clad cupboards, along with a fridge, kettle, toaster… and a Nespresso coffee machine to charge your mornings.
From here, you won’t have to wander too far along to the bedroom, which features a downy kingsize bed that’s perfect for a lazy lie-in, before a sun-drenched wander to the local bakery for a delicious breakfast.

The indulgent bathroom, with its huge couples’ rainfall shower, double sink, and mood lighting, is a thing of wonder… although you may prefer wrapping yourselves in the fluffy robes provided, and heading out to your private courtyard instead.
Here you’ll discover comfy seating that’s ideal for curling up with a good book, or chatting over al fresco snacks… and a bubbling, heated hot tub that’s perfect for relaxing in – perhaps with a chilled glass of local wine! – after a hard day of exploring the island.
But as much as you’ll love that hot tub, we’ve got a sneaking suspicion that your favourite time of the day will be just as the sun begins to set.
That’s because it’s the perfect time to head up to your spectacular roof terrace, furnished with sun loungers and comfy chairs…
…and watch that blazing golden sun sink over the outrageously pretty village, with its iconic blue domed church, and into the glistening Aegean Sea beyond.
