A special place that’s bursting with natural charm, Poland’s Masurian Lake District is known as the “land of a thousand lakes” for good reason!
With over two thousand lakes rippling through endless stretches of unspoilt forest and marshland, the breathtaking scenery transports you back to simpler times past.
What better setting, you may ask, for Poland’s one and only glamping retreat?
Privately nestled amongst 50 heavenly hectares of Masurian Lake District land, Glendoria is bordered by sparkling waters, and surrounded by awe-inspiring pine forest you’ll be aching to get lost in from the moment you arrive.
If that wasn’t quite enough, there’s plenty of on-site activity to keep everyone occupied, plus an indulgent camp spa, a swimming pool and delicious, freshly-prepared meals served every day.
Of course, your accommodation is every bit as idyllic as your surroundings. The barn dates back to 1924, and was once home to a granary and timber yard. These days, you’ll find it lovingly restored to provide characterful comfort, in spacious rooms filled with lush plants and cosy furnishings.
Relax in front of the fireplace or crackling stove, and there’s even a generous terrace that’s ideal for morning coffee-with-a-view.

If prefer getting up close and personal with nature, the tented rooms are a perfect choice. Complete with hand-made furniture, a bathroom created from 100 year-old wood, and a roomy veranda complete with hammock, you can unwind amongst birdsong and the fresh scent of natural pine.
Explore the area on two wheels, grab a pair of Nordic walking poles, or borrow a kayak to watch the sunrise reflected in the river. True adrenaline junkies can sign up for a 4×4 off-road adventure, or take a treasure-hunting trip.
If you’re in a competitive mood, simply head for the volleyball court, or challenge your loved one to a game of badminton!
If all that sounds a little too much, how about an energising session in the Finnish sauna, beautifully placed amongst the pines? You can also take full advantage of the Jacuzzi hot tub, or take a dip in an open-air herbal bath.
You’ll find plenty of cosy spots dotted around the site – ideal for curling up with a book, or grabbing your binoculars and keeping an eye on the resident bird life. Expect visits from cranes, ravens, hawks and herons, and if you’re hankering after even more wildlife there’s an African ostrich farm and horses to visit too.
Later on, gather round the bonfire ring, after a hearty supper of barbecued sausages, baked potatoes and traditional soup cooked in a cast-iron pot.
All meals are lovingly and traditionally prepared from organic ingredients, with home-grown fruit and vegetables, homemade bread and preserves, fish caught fresh from the lake, and traditional cured meats all reliable menu staples.
With everything so beautifully taken care of, it’s time to immerse yourselves completely in this perfect slice of rural heaven.
