Fingal Edinburgh is a former Northern Lighthouse Board ship, elegantly transformed into an opulent five-star floating hotel. Awarded TripAdvisor’s Number One UK Hotel, Fingal is also at the top of the ‘One of a Kind’ hotels category, so your stay will be in a class all of its own.

Each of the 22 cabins is styled to luxurious and detail-rich perfection, inspired by Fingal’s rich maritime history and with a choice of Classic, Luxury, and Duplex. Think sumptuous heritage fabrics, leather sofas, sleek gilded contours, and mini-bars stocked with tempting local delicacies.

(Our tip? Book the spectacular, penthouse-style Skerryvore Suite, with its private dining deck and freestanding bathtub, to emulate that dreamlike feeling of relaxing on board a superyacht).

Although Edinburgh’s city centre is just two miles away, you won’t have to travel to dine exceptionally well. Fingal’s top-deck Lighthouse Restaurant has been awarded two AA rosettes for good reason, serving everything from leisurely breakfasts and showstopping dinners to decadent afternoon teas.

Meanwhile, if you’re a fan of ice-cold bubbles, simply make your way up to the Moët Deck. Here, Champagne-tasting is arranged daily at 17:43 – the year the Moët Champagne house was founded. Just listen out for the bell ringing to claim your glass!
