Eco Fisherman’s Cottage

A quaint and historic off-grid retreat, featuring soothing sea views and an authentic slice of rustic village life in Lanzarote.
  • Sleeps: 4 (+ infant)
  • Bedroom: 1
  • Bathroom: 1
  • Minimum stay: 3 nights

Recently featured as one of The Guardian’s top 20 seaside stays, and the ‘best seaside villa in Europe’ by The Times, you could be forgiven for thinking Eco Fisherman’s Cottage is dripping in glitz and glamour.

Instead, you’ll find the dream-like eco cottage beautifully positioned on the harbour front in Arrieta, a sleepy fishing village in northern Lanzarote. With just 400 inhabitants and completely free of noisy resorts, this is the perfect setting to get acquainted with authentic, relaxed village life.

Sleeping up to four guests (and one extra child), you can enjoy stunning sea views from the comfort of both the peaceful lounge, and the elegant kingsize master bedroom. Powered by solar energy, you can also relax in the knowledge that your carbon footprint will be mercifully light.

The cottage is said to be one of the very first homes to be constructed in the village, so you’ll find the décor and furnishings tastefully in keeping with its timeless heritage.

There’s a traditional Canarian-style balcony and a charming courtyard to relax in, and you’ll even find a fishing rod supplied, if you’d like to pay homage to the local fishermen as they launch their colourful painted boats each morning.

There’s a fully-equipped kitchen to help you prepare that catch of the day, and a bespoke-crafted dining table and chairs for everybody to break bread at. Though you may prefer a sizzling supper in the courtyard instead, with the emerging stars for company.

By day, take a luxurious swim in the crystal-clear waters at the cove beach, right next to the cottage, then wash those sandy toes in your sparkling outdoor shower (if you prefer a more sumptuous dip, you’ll find a wooden-surround sunken bath in the master suite!)
