Driftwood Treehouse is an authentic introduction to sun-soaked, laid-back Caribbean island life, elevated among tropical greenery on St. Lucia’s sublime south-west coast.
Expertly – and lovingly – hand-crafted from locally-sourced timber, much of the treehouse’s unique furniture was also hand-made on the island (the same expert craftsmanship and attention to detail also applies to Driftwood Cottage, separately secluded on the same site).
A private garden setting and soft sea breezes – Laborie beach is mere steps away – mean the covered, open-air treehouse lounge is pure joy to spend time in. Oh, and there’s also a palm-fringed sun terrace, on which you’ll find an inviting plunge pool just for you.
Your knowledgeable hosts, Ben and Nick, will be happy to meet you at the airport and take you straight to your treehouse retreat (a small charge applies), even stopping at a local supermarket on the way for foodie essentials, if you’d like.
You’ll certainly find the kitchen well equipped for feasts of every description… though for confirmed non-cooks, Laborie is home to a small and charming collection of eateries, just a short stroll from the beach.
Meanwhile, your treehouse bedroom boasts a sumptuous four-poster kingsize bed, with air conditioning and mosquito nets for calming nights of slumber. Freshen up in the indulgent and spacious bathroom, with a walk-in shower to help get your day off to an invigorating start.
What you’ll do with the rest of your time is up to you. Fast Wi-Fi is available for entertainment or catching up with life back home (if you really must). Or simply grab a sun lounger on that incredible terrace and get lost in a good book – in between refreshing afternoon dips in the pool.

More information
If you’re in the mood to explore, Laborie has a glowing reputation as one of St. Lucia’s most welcoming villages. Watch fishing boats weave lazily in and out of the pretty harbour, chat with locals (English is spoken everywhere), take a short drive to the local watersports centre, or simply grab a table at Mama Tilly’s Bar and Grill… famous for its amazing home-cooked fare!
(Up for a livelier time? While Laborie life is gloriously slow-paced, it won’t be hard to find bars serving good music and good cocktails, especially on weekends).
You’ll also find the village is perfectly placed for you to explore wider St. Lucia at your leisure. Soufrière, the island’s original capital, is home to iconic hotspots including the Pitons – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – Sulphur Springs’ volcanic mud baths, and the mesmerising Volga Nature Trail.
Head further north if you feel inclined, where you’ll find delights including Marigot Bay and the current capital, Castries, before heading back to the tranquil arms of Laborie – and Driftwood Treehouse – for a well-deserved sundowner-by-the-sea.

What the guests of Driftwood Treehouse say
“This turned out to be a dream vacation. The treehouse was like something out of a fairytale. The views were absolutely beautiful, having a plunge pool at the treehouse was beyond wonderful! And you’re only a couple of steps from the ocean!” – D – April 2025
“Words can’t fully express how incredible our stay was. Though it was a quick birthday getaway for my boyfriend and me, it was exactly what we needed. A perfect escape from the chaos of NYC. Laborie felt like a slice of heaven, nestled in a truly stunning oasis. The village’s rich culture, breathtaking views, and warm, welcoming community left a lasting impression on us.” O – July 2025
“We loved our stay at the Treehouse! The pictures do not do it justice. Just staying up and relaxing in our private little oasis alone would have made for a great vacation, but then there is also the beach and the charming village of Laborie… the most amazing hosts: they arranged a tour of the island for us and set up massages and a couple of fantastic dinners. A couple of their dogs hung out with us and escorted us around the village. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!” K – January 2025
