When you arrive at Devonia Escapes, you’ll notice just how apt the word “escape” truly is. Surrounded by fresh, idyllic Devon countryside, hectic life back home will feel like a distant memory.
You’ll have two cabins to choose from, both beautifully set in their own meadow on a 70-acre family-run farm. Each one showcases the most glorious stream-and-woodland views… which become all the better when you’re soaking in your private al fresco bathtub.
Owners Jon and Teresa designed and built the two cabins themselves, also filling them with cosy home comforts so you won’t have to move so much as a muscle all holiday long. Though with the sweeping North Devon coast a mere 15-minute drive away, and a wealth of legendary trails close by, you may choose to get exploring!
Named Fern and Kingfisher, the cabins each occupy their own perfect setting in the meadow, and boast their own unique interior style. You’ll find Fern gently elevated to overlook the stream and woodland, decked in beautiful green shades that mimic its namesake.
Kingfisher, meanwhile, is a dog-friendly haven whose ultra-relaxing meadow views and calm blue hues offer a sublime, tranquil haven from the everyday.
Whichever cabin you choose, you’ll find a downy kingsize bed freshly dressed for your stay, with an en-suite bathroom stocked with ethical toiletries and butter-soft Egyptian cotton towels.
Your kitchen area comes equipped with everything you’ll need to whip up tasty meals and snacks – though on lazy summer evenings you might prefer a sizzling barbecue supper instead! – while the breakfast bar is made (literally) for gazing out across the woodland. There’s even an Amazon Echo Dot on hand to help provide the perfect soundtrack.

On chillier evenings, light the woodburner and snuggle up on the sofa with a glass of wine and a game from the selection provided. Underfloor heating will help ensure you’re kept nice and toasty all evening long… bliss.
What to do after that sound night’s sleep? Savour a leisurely breakfast on your furnished decking, as you watch nature slowly coming to life. If you’re in the mood for a treat, the farm’s heritage free-range eggs are probably the freshest you’ll ever taste, and should be sampled at least once!
Then, why not pack a picnic and explore the meadow… or even head further afield to the famed South West Coast Path or Tarka Trail?
You’ll also find the lively market towns of Bideford and Great Torrington within a 15-minute drive: ideal for stocking up on fresh local produce before you catch another incredible sunset back at Devonia Escapes.

Electric car charging is available on site. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay in Kingfisher cabin.

I’m told there are kingfishers too, but I think you need to be an early riser to see those. It really is lovely at Devonia Escapes.”
