The village itself is rich in history, boasting the longest stone bridge in England – oh, and  a popular fish and chip shop for slap-up suppers!  You could also head to the nearby spa town of Buxton, just 20 minutes away by car, or drive an extra 10 minutes to enjoy a family day out at Alton Towers.

If you’ve brought your hiking boots, there’s plenty to explore on foot, with some wonderful walks to Chrome Hill, Dove Dale, the Manifold Valley and Hartington (to name but a few!) practically on the doorstep.
