Steeped in history, the castle has remained in the same family for over 700 years, with today’s generation very happy to show you around and share their stories.
Of course, there is evidence of the castle’s heritage all around. You’ll gain a sense of it from the moment you walk through the entrance hall, complete with exposed stone work and a noble atmosphere that befits any special celebration.
Your private, three-storey wing features six grand bedrooms – one with its own corridor and equipped with a woodburner, others with stained-glass windows, four-poster beds and generous en-suites. The third-floor room is accessed via a spiral staircase, and offers far-reaching views of the estate. (Well, you’re staying in a castle…a little luxury should be expected!)
Meet everyone for cocktails in the magnificent drawing room, complete with marble fireplace – or hide from them in the ground-floor den under the staircase, equipped with books and cosy seating!
Outside, there are 600 acres to roam through, with a sparkling loch that’s ideal for afternoon picnics. At the end of the day, though, you’re staying in a castle…so however you spend your time, it will be gloriously regal.
