The philosophy at Cabanes des Grands Chênes (that’s “Great Oaks” in English), is to sit back, relax, and enjoy nature at its timeless best.
Though you’ll be under 40 miles away from Paris, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into another world entirely, surrounded by acres of lush Picardy forest land that’s home to a golf course and the historic Raray castle – made famous by Jean Cocteau in his screen adaptation of the book ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
Almost hidden from view, set around eight metres above ground amongst towering, 100 year-old oak trees, are an exquisite selection of designer tree cabins for romantic couples and adventure-seeking families to enjoy. With each cabin separated by at least 70 metres from its neighbour, you can luxuriate in almost complete privacy throughout your stay.
Each of the cabins is unique in its beautiful design, crafted from larch and Douglas fir, and you’ll find them equipped with water and electricity for extra holiday comfort. Oh, and you’ll also have your very own bathroom and shower, so you won’t have to head back down to Earth just to freshen up.
Accessed via rope bridge, ladder or spiral staircase, you’ll feel like George of the Jungle as you make your way to your new home in the trees! Inside, cosy beds and chestnut-crafted furniture are sure to relax you immediately.
In the mood for even more luxury? Why not upgrade to a spa cabin, which includes a chemical-free Nordic bath, all to yourselves? Secluded on a platform attached to your cabin or on the terrace, you’ll be in prime wildlife-watching position.
Devour the contents of your delicious, locally-sourced breakfast basket, delivered each morning to your cabin by a handy rope, and plan out your exciting day ahead.
