A postcard-perfect village in Northumberland, visitors cherish Bamburgh for its famous castle, windswept coastlines, and energising walking trails.

Nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and elevated over the rugged heritage coastline, Bamburgh Coastal Retreat offers superlative sea and country views that promise to soothe your soul.

Sleeping up to six guests, the luxurious retreat is cleverly styled for upside-down living, so you can make the most of that awe-inspiring scenery from the huge picture windows in the stunning first floor living and dining area.

On sunny days, simply throw open the full length bi-folding doors and wander out onto the furnished balcony, to enjoy the mesmerising sunset over a glass of bubbles (or two!)

Meanwhile, the bespoke kitchen will help to keep everybody well-fed, with its electric oven and hob, and indulgent holiday accessories that include a coffee machine and a wine cooler.

Downstairs await three light, bright, TV-equipped bedrooms. The kingsize master boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, French doors that lead you outside, and an en-suite shower room, while the second kingsize room and twin are wonderfully cosy.

There’s a gorgeous bathroom on this floor, too, featuring a romantic free-standing bath you’ll want to relax in for hours, armed with a good book for company.

More information

Fully revived and refreshed, you’ll be in perfect spirits to explore the local area! Luckily, there’s a great deal of attractions and activities to choose from close by.

You could start by wandering into Bamburgh, where you’ll find that majestic castle waiting for you, along with the Grace Darling museum, and the Grade I listed St. Aidan’s Church.

Take a scenic boat trip to the Farne Islands to spot puffins, seals and diverse bird life, or travel further on to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. Oh, and there are plenty of coastal walking trails to test out your hiking boots on… though if that sounds like a little too much effort, there are also plenty of sandy beaches to stretch out your towel on!

There’s a golf club nearby, for those who prefer a gentler walk, while further afield you can get lost in Hadrian’s Wall country, or pay a visit to the pretty town of Alnwick.

Wear out your feet and your voices, safe in the comforting knowledge that when sunset comes around again, you’ll have a blissful and beautiful sanctuary to return to.

(We very much doubt your first visit will be your last).
