To the Shore
England / Mawgan Porth, Cornwall
Full description
A luxurious Cornish coastal retreat with an après-surf shower and a show-stopping, south-facing balcony, mere moments from Mawgan Porth Beach.
To the Shore is perfect in just about every way. Not only does the luxurious retreat boast the ultimate in contemporary design, it's also beautifully located just moments away from the Sunday Times award-winning beach at Mawgan Porth, on a new, exclusive development of luxury holiday homes.
And with Mawgan Porth itself ideally situated between Padstow and Newquay on the windswept North Cornish coast, you'll never be short of ways to spend your time!
There's just one potential problem: convincing yourselves to leave To the Shore. A family and dog-friendly retreat that sleeps up to eight guests, there's plenty of space for everyone to socialise and relax, just as they like.
Designed to make the most of those amazing views, you'll find most of the bedrooms on the ground floor. There's a kingsize room with a large sliding patio door and an opulent ensuite, together with a spacious twin, and a playful bunk room that's ideal for the little ones.
Head up the wood-and-glass staircase to claim the principal bedroom for yourself! This features a kingsize bed, an ensuite with a monsoon shower, and a cinema video projector to help you enjoy your favourite films in style.
It's also on this floor that you'll discover the magnificent open plan living, dining, and kitchen area... as well as an amazing south-facing balcony with a glazed balustrade and plenty of seating.
Boasting panoramic views of the valley, with fresh glimpses of the sea and some truly epic sunsets, the balcony provides an idyllic setting for morning coffee and evening cocktails alike. There's even a suspended egg chair that's ideal for curling up with a good book.
Dining inside? The oak dining table and hi-tech mood lighting means you can set the perfect tone, while the sleek, stylish kitchen is worthy of the most celebrated chefs. After breaking bread, retire to the L-shaped sofa and chill in front of the large Smart TV - and if you feel a little chilly, there's a gorgeous faux log fire to warm your toes.
As you might expect, there's plenty of scope for life al fresco here, so along with that beautiful balcony, you'll find a large front lawn and a paved terrace complete with comfy outdoor sofas. Meanwhile, granite steps lead up to a second elevated patio with a barbecue and firepit, for sizzling sunset suppers that last long into the star-studded evening.
Oh, and did we mention there's also a warm après-surf shower outside, along with a bench and a wetsuit rail? Well, with one of the finest beaches in North Cornwall just a few steps away, it'd almost be a crime not to include them!
Book yourself into the surf school, explore the fascinating caves that reveal themselves when the tide is low, or take an invigorating stroll along the spectacular coastal path - which runs right past the house. If you don't want to stray too far, the pretty village is home to friendly shops and eateries, just opposite the beach.
With so much to revel in, we're willing to bet that your first visit To the Shore won't be your last!
