Lorne is often described as Victoria’s answer to Byron Bay, with its sparkling waterfalls, lush rainforests, and paradise-like sandy beaches.
Qii House Lorne has teamed up with Treehab Tiny Houses, to create three breathtaking, eco-friendly homes (each one with a Japanese Zen name) that will take you far away from the stresses and strains of everyday life.
Working with the Japanese principles of forest therapy – a concept known as shinrin yoku – each tiny house has been custom-created to work in harmony with its surroundings. There’s plenty of comfort inside too, including Mongolian lambswool cushions, Merino-felted floor rugs, and snuggly bedding.
Bursts of colour provide plenty of cheer inside, while outside awaits a private deck with a hammock, some yoga mats… and a custom-built eco bath for two.
You’ll have limited TV reception, but when you’re in such a beautiful part of the world, who cares? Why not while away some time in the temple garden by the billabong; perhaps try some meditation and watch the goldfish at play, or wander the ever-evolving sculpture gardens. Alternatively, head out on Qii House’s accredited rainforest walking circuit, or simply pour a glass of complimentary wine and drink in that spectacular view.
