Kagga Kamma is an award-winning nature reserve, magnificently located within acres of pure wilderness in South Africa’s Cederberg Mountains. Just three hours from Cape Town, you’ll feel as though you’ve been spirited to a whole other world – one filled with jaw-dropping natural beauty.
Surrounded by spectacular rock formations and ancient art, and captivating flora and fauna, you’ll have the chance to spot endless species of birds and wild animals (translation: don’t forget your camera!). There’s no telling who you might meet on any given day, from a passing aardvark to a lively zebra.
Choose your accommodation in these awe-inspiring surroundings, from options that range from open-air suites to glorious, authentic thatched huts.
The Star Suite and the Sky Suite are experiences worthy of any bucket list; two open-air rooms for couples who are ready to fall head-over-heels in love with this amazing natural environment. The Star Suite boasts the vast, star-sprinkled night sky as its ceiling, and the wilderness landscape as its walls. You’ll also enjoy a cosy queen bed, an outdoor shower and a stargazing open-air bath.
The Sky Suite, meanwhile, is nestled on one of the site’s highest peaks – around 950m above sea level – for the most astounding views of the mountain ranges, Fynbos valleys and the colourful, ever-changing sky. Those views get even better when enjoyed over a glass of wine in the wood-fired hot tub!
If you prefer more conventional living, there are ten ‘cave’ suites to choose from, each one featuring a scenery-showcasing terrace and fluffy bathrobes. Finally, five spacious, thatched hut suites evoke the dwellings of the ancient San clans that once called Kagga Kamma their home.
With no TV, WiFi or mobile reception available in your accommodation, you’ll have no choice but to relax and reconnect with your favourite people…and of course, get blissfully lost in your surroundings (though if you need them, WiFi and a TV are available in the on-site bar area).
