Choose a Kabina Classic, sleeping two adults and one child (or three adults), or for larger families a Kabina Grande, sleeping up to five guests on a superking bed and comfy bunks (one Kabina Grande is also dog-friendly).

Whichever Kabina you opt for, you can relax on your large, private deck – or indeed, in your aforementioned stargazing hot tub – and gaze out at those beautiful rural surroundings. Later on, simply light the firepit and get ready to tell some epic holiday stories under the twinkling stars… toasted marshmallows optional.

Ready to explore the on-site surroundings? There are plenty of facilities to take advantage of, including a small shop for stocking up on supplies. The Pizza Shack, meanwhile, is perfect if you don’t feel like using your Kabina’s well-equipped kitchenette (and since you’re on holiday, that’s a perfectly acceptable excuse!)

You could also become an ‘Otter Spotter’ and take note of the abundant estate wildlife – including buzzards and kingfishers to name just a few – or sign up for one of the new wellness packages on offer at Baxby Manor.

What else? Hiking and biking trails are aplenty, as you might expect from such an idyllic part of the world – as are friendly local pubs and restaurants. But if you really must hop in the car and explore further afield, there are several market towns to visit close by, as well as the historic city of York.

(You could also find that nearby Go Ape and Flamingo Land are perfect pitstops… particularly if the kids need tiring out before bed!)
