Escape to the Peak District with a stay at Hoe Grange Holidays – an eco-friendly retreat everyone can enjoy. There are many reasons why this wonderful place has won numerous awards for its accessible accommodation and green credentials – but the best way to find out why is to experience it yourself!
You’ll find Hoe Grange Holidays on a friendly working farm, hidden in the hills of the Peak District between Ashbourne and Bakewell. Owners David and Felicity are hugely passionate about providing accessible holidays for all guests who come to stay in their log cabins and glamping pods, all the while limiting any impact they might have on the environment.
Hoe Grange’s four log cabins have been specially designed with accessibility in mind. All are wheelchair-friendly, utilising ramped access, level thresholds and wide doorways. The rooms are spacious, allowing up to two wheelchairs in each, and you can even pre-order specialist accessibility equipment on request, saving you from bringing your own.
Log cabins Rainster and Daisybank comfortably sleep four – ideal for smaller families and couples. Both offer a large, super king Master bedroom and a spacious twin room (which can be configured as another super king room and has its own accessible en-suite wet room). Hipley Cabin also sleeps four between a double room and an en-suite twin room.
For more mobile guests, Pinder Cabin sleeps six. This is a perfect option for larger groups and families, thanks to the three bedrooms available – a twin room and two doubles, one of which has an en-suite shower room.
All four log cabins are fully equipped for a relaxing holiday and offer luxurious accommodatiion, including family bathrooms with whirlpool baths, fully equipped open-plan kitchens, and spacious living areas. A log-effect fire, central heating and double glazing keep you cosy and warm, whatever the weather’s doing. And, of course, all accommodation is dog-friendly (they need a holiday too!) – all dogs stay free of charge, with a refundable bond for non-working dogs.
For couples, why not stay in one of Hoe Grange’s glamping pods? These chic, mini-cabins offer a cute but practical self-catering hideaway. With your own kitchen facilities, a private WC and shower room, and king size sofa-bed, you have everything you could possibly need for your escape to the country. Keep toasty thanks to the infra-red heating and excellent insulation, and relax in the knowledge your pod has been built from eco-friendly FSC timber. This is just one of the ways in which David and Felicity have developed such super green credentials. Others include the use of an onsite borehole to reduce water miles, onsite renewable energy generation, and even the provision of eco-friendly toiletries and cleaning materials.

More information
The newest addition is Rose Hip, a traditional Romany horse-drawn caravan, beautifully and carefully converted into a truly unique place to stay; a couples-only retreat for true romantics to relax and enjoy some quality time in, with deep burgundy tones contrasting with bright colours and set against a green canvas roof to striking effect. The caravan comes with all mod cons, and a modern shower room with underfloor heating, but perhaps best of all, you’ll enjoy scenic views over the working farm.
Wherever you stay, you can look forward to a delicious Welcome Pack, stocked with fresh milk, locally baked biscuits, home-baked bread and free range eggs from the girls on the farm! Families can find loads to do here, from following the Farm Walk to helping David feed the animals. For a little bit of ‘you time’, book a spot in the log-fired Swedish hot tub or log-fired barrel sauna. You can even book a Pamper Package for a special occasion, and a new addition for guests to hire is a pizza oven, for a fun evening creating and cooking their own pizzas!
Beyond the 250 acres of the farm, there’s the whole Peak District to explore. This can be done on foot or bike, by the Boma 7 (Hoe Grange’s own off-road wheelchair for hire), or even on horseback. Yes, horses are welcome too at Hoe Grange, and you can holiday in peace together knowing the farm is a certified member of the BHS’ Horses Welcome scheme. With the Pennine Bridleway and High Peak Trail just a short distance from the farm, there’s much to explore in this beautiful landscape.
There are so many wonderful things about Hoe Grange Holidays, words just don’t do them justice. One thing is for sure though – if you want a holiday that’s accessible, eco-friendly, captivating for the whole family (including dogs and horses!), and set in beautiful countryside, you’ll find it at Hoe Grange.

What the guests of Hoe Grange Holidays say
“Had a wonderful weeks stay at Hoe Grange. David and Felicity are perfect
hosts and the accomodation is the best we’ve ever stayed in – warm, cosy and a
real home from home ( but better!). Loved the welcome goodies – bread, biscuits
eggs etc and the location was perfect for walking and easy access to Ashbourne,
Tissington etc. The log cabin was so well equipped we were short of nothing and
we even had our own eco toiletries – my hair has never felt so pampered!!
Cannot praise the cabins highly enough – book and see for yourself!”
Sheila (stayed in Daisybank)
“By far the best glamping out there! Waking up to lambs playing outside our door, horses running around and sheep grazing. The pod is so cozy, warm, and has everything you require. Being able to sit outside with a glass of wine looking at the beautiful view! We hired some bikes and cycled to Carsington Water and had an ice-cream! Already planning our next trip here and jumping in the jacuzzi. Thanks for the best weekend – and the cookies!”
Rebecca and Leigh
“Our wonderful welcome was followed by the most comfortable and peacefull mini-break we’ve ever had. You should definitely book the hot tub which uses no chemicals, only wonderful (incredibly local) fresh water! The map provided in the pod was fantastic and the footpaths are well marked so just follow the map signposts and the yellow arrows. We also did an indoor climbing lesson at “The Face” in Wirksworth Leisure Centre which was fantastic but Hoe Grange has definitely been the ‘piece de resistance’ in our holiday. Thank you both for making it so magical. We will definitely be back!”
