Leave your cares far behind as you escape to a whole new world of luxury, in an award-winning stone cottage perfectly set within Scotland's bracingly beautiful Atlantic Coast.
  • Sleeps: 4
  • Bedrooms: 2
  • Bathrooms: 2
  • Minimum stay: 1 week

Nestled exquisitely on the edge of the clean, white sands of Uig Bay, surrounded by the breathtaking natural scenery of the Island of Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides, you will discover Beach Bay Cottage.

This stunning, eco-friendly holiday home was designed by renowned architect Stuart Bagshaw, and is the proud winner of the 2012 Outer Hebrides Design Award.  Coupled with the designated National Scenic Area of Uig Bay, you’re guaranteed the most uniquely spectacular views, whether you’re inside or outside!

Beach Bay Cottage is built into the hillside, designed in Neolithic style from natural stone, and features a turfed roof to blend beautifully with its windswept surroundings.  Sleeping up to four people, the cottage promises lovingly unspoilt tradition, blended with the very best of contemporary luxury throughout.

The welcoming entrance hall evokes a genuine feeling of warmth as soon as you arrive, and when you wander into the open-plan lounge and dining area, you may never want to leave!

With a 180-degree bay window that allows an incredible amount of natural light to come flooding inside, you can savour the most amazing views of the family-friendly beach just a few yards away. This is the perfect spot to relax, as you watch the tide moving in and out over fresh white sands…and it’s not unusual to spot the occasional Golden Eagle soaring overhead, or sea otters swimming around the coast.

Grey slate flooring and underfloor heating throughout the property provide a sense of cosily contemporary style, and you’ll find a multi-fuel stove to keep everybody warm on colder evenings…though you may prefer the two person infra-red sauna on some occasions, instead!

The kitchen is well-equipped, and the perfect place to prepare many a hearty breakfast, as you sit at the sociable dining table with its leather chairs, and discuss your plans for the day ahead. On sunnier mornings, why not enjoy an al-fresco breakfast out on the stone patio in your private garden, as you listen to the soothing sounds of the sea?
