Marram, Cliff Beach Cabins
- Sleeps: 2 (+2)
- Bedrooms: 2
- Bathroom: 1
- Minimum stay: 3 nights
The aptly-named Cliff Beach is a magnificent, north-facing bay on the Isle of Lewis, bordered by some of the isle’s highest cliffs and opening out to the mighty Atlantic Ocean.
Boasting pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters – not to mention a deliciously remote setting – the beach is particularly perfect for a romantic escape, or a much-needed small-family getaway.
Where will you stay during this dreamlike break? Marram (a Gaelic word for the rare and distinctive grass found along the coastline) is a luxurious, bespoke-crafted retreat that showcases that mesmerising seascape to perfection.
Positioned directly on the edge Cliff Beach, the cabin’s sea-facing porthole windows will make you feel as though you’ve just set sail, while the expansive glass door allows daylight to flood cheerfully inside.
The sociable, open-plan living space features every holiday convenience you could want, with soft-toned, coastal-inspired décor and plenty of places to relax, including a cosy sofa and a breakfast bar-style table for chats over coffee.
Once night falls, entertainment comes in the form of a Smart TV, and there’s a well-equipped kitchen – complete with a dishwasher and a washing machine – to help you rustle up meals of all shapes and sizes.
Meanwhile, an elegant kingsize bedroom and a separate children’s bunk room sleep four guests in idyllic island comfort. Up to two well-behaved dogs are also welcome to stay.

Nearby Stornoway offers mountain-biking trails for the more adventurous, or for those who prefer learning about local history and culture, the standing stones of Callanish, or the reconstructed Black House village at An Gearrannan, are both wonderful places to start.
Of course, you’ll also have plenty of opportunity to immerse your soul in the natural world – whether that’s sublime open water swimming, finally learning to surf, or grabbing your binoculars to observe everything from red deer to golden eagles up close.
Things to note
