Glamping is hardly a new concept these days. Yet with Apple Camping, a refreshingly alternative, family-and-dog-friendly site in the heart of Pembrokeshire countryside, your break will be truly unique.
After all, where else could you rest your heads in a futuristic UFO? Bespoke-constructed by talented Tenby craftspeople and sleeping up to four guests, the out-of-this-world retreat was featured on This Morning’s ‘Staycation Showdown’ for its wow-factor quotient!
Featuring eight windows that look out over lush green land, you’ll find plenty to enjoy on board your craft, including a gaming monitor for those 80’s classics (Space Invaders, anyone?) – and there’s even an escape hatch if intergalactic travel gets too much.
Other unique (and fabulously-named) accommodation include The Crate Escape, a shipping container that’s been lovingly converted with care and craftsmanship, into a Scandi-style Tiny Home retreat for up to six guests. Or jump aboard The Apple Express, a first-class vintage ‘time capsule’ for four that’s inspired by a luxurious Pullman railway carriage.
What else? Well, if you’re looking for more ‘traditional’ glamping accommodation, The Hemispheres are a pair of insulated, immersively-themed geodomes that each sleep up to four guests. All you have to do is decide which hemisphere takes your fancy the most… the vast, rugged Northern or the lush, adventurous Southern.
You could also bed down in an iconic silver American Airstream, which sleeps up to four guests in boutique retro style. Meanwhile, the Witch’s Hat – an insulated log cabin with a pointed roof – allows you to wake up with all the light and magic of the countryside quite literally on your doorstep.
While some accommodation boasts private facilities, there’s a spacious, pristine communal shower and toilet block on site, too. The barbecue area with seating is ideal for catching up with friends you haven’t met yet, while shared kitchen and laundry areas make life (not to mention packing!) much easier.

Of course, there are plenty of ‘off the beaten track’ places to explore in the local area, too. Your friendly hosts, born and raised in Pembrokeshire, will have plenty of suggestions for you!
After a hard day’s exploring, where better to unwind than the sanctuary of Apple Camping – just in time to catch that blazing sunset and the first stars appearing in the vast, unpolluted evening sky? All that’s left to do now is put the kids to bed, then relax with a glass or two of something lovely. Cheers!

What the guests of Apple Camping say
“Wow wow wow! Just got home from our 3 night stay on the Etihad airbus plane! Me and my youngest are plane mad and he didn’t have a clue where we were going. From start to finish, we’ve loved it here! Being able to sleep on a plane, pull the trolleys around like you would on a plane and serve our tea, cook, and have family time around the fire outside with marshmallows. Then the bonus of the new hot tub added! So many things to do around in the area and some lovely restaurants. We’ve had such an amazing time and a right laugh which we needed so much. I will definitely recommend to family and friends!”
“We stayed in the airbus as our boys are plane mad. They loved it. Beds are comfy, lovely and clean and friendly on hand staff. Extra nice having the hot tub. We will 100% go back.”
“We stayed here beginning of October for my son’s birthday and WOW it was amazing! Easy to get to, very warm welcome and not only that they check if everything is ok later on in the day. It’s a really lovely place to make memories with your family and they go above and beyond to make sure you have a lovely experience. Definitely coming again.”
