11 October 2017

Now that summer seems like a distant memory, are you feeling the onset ofSeasonal Affective Disorder? Well no need to be SAD, as we have some great new holiday hideaways to put a spring back into your step. Our first is the perfect antidote to seasonal gloom – a beach house in Kent with a Real Sunlight room so you can enjoy sun all year round! Next we head to Wales to a uniquely styled, cosy lodge where you can shut the door on winter and relax. Finally we bring you a sophisticated Devonshire glamping retreat, either for a late October break or to startplanning your next summer family escape nice and early!

Beach Sun Retreat

Who needs the tropics when you have the lure of Beach Sun Retreat?  A true one-of-its-kind, at this incredible Kent beach houseyou can sunbathe 365 days a year. Even on the most wintery of days you can get your vitamin D fix, thanks to the ingenious Real Sunlight multi-sensory room, fully equipped with palm trees, waterfall feature and the obligatory beach bar for cocktails galore. What’s more, there’s no need for suncream as the majority of UV rates are already filtered. If the weather outside is fair, head over the private bridge to the sandy beach – if it’s not so fair, sunbathe inside or treat youself to a film in the cinema room! So for a unique experience for up to 7 guests (perhaps including a DJ since the equipment is provided!), head to the Garden of England and its beautiful coast and bask away til your heart’s content, regardless of what the weather is doing outside.

Walden Lodge

Combining influences from both America and Wales, the name ‘Walden Lodge‘is inspired by Henry David Thoreau’s book ‘Walden’ which reflects on the beauty of living simply, surrounded by nature. When you arrive at this delightfully peaceful setting surrounded by lofty trees in Tresilian Wood in the Vale of Glamorgan, you’ll definitely see how well the name fits! Reminiscent of prairie cabins, this pioneer style handcrafted lodge is exquisitely crafted and designed, with original artworks, textiles and intricate glasswork all combining to create an authentic hideout in the woods. Attention to detail and thoughtful design make this a perfect place to relax and enjoy the heritage of Wales whilst feeding the soul at the same time.

Lower Keats Glamping

Detach from the hustle and bustle and venture into a meadowland nestled in the Axe Valley in Devon, where a family-run glamping adventure awaitsat Lower Keats Glamping. The six eco-friendly safari lodgeson offer here are all beautifully presented; there is no trace of ‘roughing it’ in sight here. Piping hot showers, modern kitchen areas and plush beds are to be found in each lodge, along with the obligatory wood burning stove and decked terrace where you can enjoy the late sunshine and a perhaps a little sundowner. Gorgeous Devonshire beaches are never far away, and the onsite farm animals are a great way for yourlittle ones to learn about local farm life. Overall, a perfect escape point, we think.
