27 February 2018

We are barking up the right tree with our latest selection of arrivals, all with an arboreal twist! So grab a book, a companion and head up to the canopy with us as we explore some exciting new treehouses. From far-reaching locations including a private treetop escape in Cumbria to a Cornish hand-built tree cabin on the unspoilt Lizard Peninsula, ending our journey in South Causey, where you can stay grounded on this occasion – in your very own treehouse themed room!

Netherby Treehouse

Enter your dreamlike home-on-stilts on the peaceful and picturesque Netherby Estate, located between the borders of England and Scotland in Cumbria. This hidden gem is sure to leave its mark on anyone who is lucky enough to step inside, after all, who doesn’t love the rustic luxury of a treehouse? Inviting eastern-inspired seating, pretty ornaments, a well-stocked library and a magnificent deck; these are just some of the features found in your treetop escape. Ideal for families thanks to the second bedroom accessed by a quirky wooden ladder, the treehouse also comes with its own kitchen and you’ll be provided with a welcome hamper with breakfast essentials and local produce. Toast marshmallows around your own private fire pit and watch day turn to night slowly in the privacy of your own woodland clearing.

Tree Sparrow House

Set in a beautiful ash tree more than two metres above ground, Tree Sparrow House (above and main picture) is an enchanting tree cabin with coastal views guaranteed to enthral and awaken your inner child. The cabin itself has been hand-built, with a wooden staircase leading to the entrance. It is from here that you will notice the unique vantage point, which could not be better, with refreshing views over Falmouth Bay as well as the lush fields and orchards of Tregaminion, ideal for watching a gold sunset on the horizon. Double glazing and toasty heating ensure you are kept warm inside your treetop bolthole, and you have access to your own quirky washroom – converted from a horsebox! The unspoilt fishing villages and secluded coves of the Lizard Pensinula are yours to explore, and this is one idyllic part of Cornwall to experience.

South Causey Feature Rooms

And now for a treehouse with a difference, for this one is not actually a treehouse at all! The series of unique and individually designed ‘feature rooms‘ at South Causey Inn include a treehouse room, complete with its very own real tree in the centre – now that’s what we call different! Hand-painted scenes accompany this and there is an ingenious ‘shed bed’ to complete the rustic look. Aside from the treehouse room, the other intriguing offerings include the American Trilogy room, Captain Cook’s Cabin, Hadrian’s Villa, French Boudoir, Log Cabin, Old Stable and more. Each room also comes with its own private outdoor hot tub, making the Feature Rooms ideal for year-round getaways. Your location is conveniently set between Newcastle and Durham, making it a perfect and comfortable base from which to explore these vibrant cities.
