A Treetop Adventure in Sussex with The Passport Diaries

23 November 2018

What better way to enjoy a fairytale treehouse amidst the trees and surrounded by greenery than combining with a unique treetop adventure at GoApe?

That was precisely our thinking when we started plotting with GoApe and our travel blogger friends at The Passport Diaries, who kindly volunteered to embark on an exciting woodland adventure weekend in Sussex, and document their experience for us all!

So, off they set into the wild, armed with their GoPro and ready to explore the area around Downash Wood, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and further to GoApe Bedgebury, for some quality weekend tree time.

But before we read more about their weekend, we shine the spotlight on the stunning accommodation offered by Downash Wood Treehouses.

Tinkers Treehouse (above) is first up, where Lucy and Makai were lucky to call home for a couple of nights, and a bespoke and handcrafted masterpiece that sleeps two – ideal for a romantic weekend away.
Inside you’ll experience hotel-style luxury and a gorgeous open-plan lounge area, as well as that all-important wood-burning stove, creating the perfectly cosy ambience after a busy day exploring.

Families need not feel excluded as the latest addition to Downash Wood Treehouses is the delightfully named Oakey Koakey Treehouse (above). The beauty of this treehouse for families is the separate bunk room, that has a clever and brightly coloured decor and tree design that the little ones are sure to love. You’ll love the Scandi-inspired design and spacious living area, as well as that enivably positioned sun deck, to relax and enjoy a sundowner and perhaps spot a resident deer or badger from!

Both treehouses are not only set amidst the trees and fields of a wonderfully rural spot in Ticehurst, but also teasingly close to the water, and heading down to the bottom of the field will bring you out at the expansive Bewl Water Reservoir. Bodiam Castle and the GoApe Bedgebury are also within short driving distance, meaning you can easily enjoy a treetop adventure with your nearest and dearest to complete your tree time in perfect style.

Here’s what our budding arborists Lucy and Makai had to say about their leaf-filled adventures – it has certainly got us in the mood to start planning our next future tree-cation!
