Ynys Faelog could have been taken from the pages of a coastal fantasy tale: a small, private tidal island in the impossibly scenic Menai Strait, with a stone causeway that leads straight to Anglesey.

Here you can gaze dreamily out across the water to Beaumaris, Garth Pier, and the iconic Menai Suspension Bridge, surrounded by your loved ones in blissful seclusion. Better still, you’ll have all the luxury you could possibly need.

The island is home to just two sumptuous havens, The House (12 guests) and The Cottage (10 guests), which can also be booked together for larger group stays… a wonderful excuse for that long-awaited break with all of your favourite people in tow.

The House provides a breathtaking viewing platform – a panoramic balcony with a wood-fired hot tub – from which you can watch the sun setting over Bangor Pier. There’s also a wraparound lawned garden with a firepit, for relaxed evenings of storytelling under the stars.

On sunny days, open the folding doors and let natural light flood into the living space as you make the most of those incredible views. There’s a large, welcoming table for enjoying home-prepared feasts, and six glorious superking bedrooms to choose from when it’s finally time to turn in (three can be made into twins on request).

There’s a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor – ideal for those who don’t ‘do’ stairs – while the master ensuite boasts an opulent freestanding bath… choose this one if you’re feeling fancy!

The Cottage, meanwhile, boasts a cosy sunroom that’s perfect for getting lost in a good book, a wraparound lawn, and a sociable living and dining space with a wood-burning stove. Five bedrooms – two superking, one kingsize, and two bunk rooms – offer plenty of flexibility.
