“Yggdrasil” is a word that refers to a huge ash tree in Norse mythology: one that binds different worlds together, and whose branches extend into the heavens.

The word is apt, since there’s a magical, almost other-worldly feel to Yggdrasil Treehouse, which you’ll find beautifully nestled amongst wildlife-steeped Devon countryside that’s a stone’s throw from Exmoor.

Every last detail has been beautifully thought through by owner and creator Val, who after spending most of her childhood immersed in the Great Outdoors of Scotland, has finally realised her childhood dream of crafting an opulent, grown-up treehouse.

Reflecting Val and her husband Mark’s combined love of travel, stargazing, and all things Scandi, there’s plenty of sumptuous comfort to be found inside, including soft leather chairs by a glowing wood-burning stove, hand-carved Finnish lamps, snuggly Icelandic sheepskins, and a kingsize bed crafted from 100 year-old oak posts.

Holiday facilities are luxuriously covered too, in the form of a gleaming, well-equipped kitchen. You’ll also be supplied with locally-sourced bacon, eggs, and fresh bread for a delicious breakfast, as well as the essential tea, coffee, and hot chocolate.

Oh, and the bathroom is a thing of wonder; with a ‘proper’ flushing loo, and a huge copper shower surrounded by intense dark wood, for indulgent freshen-ups.

As if all this wasn’t quite enough outrageous luxury, simply wander outside to discover a hammock suspended underneath the treehouse, a fairy-lit hot tub, a dedicated barbecue area… and your very own gin bar, stocked with a variety of botanicals to help you welcome the sunset in style.
