It’s a familiar scene. You decide to go camping, only to find when you get to the site that you’re late. You now have to put up your tent in the dark, which would be fine…if you hadn’t forgotten to pack your tent in the car!

Wye Glamping resets the scene, with a comfy eco-friendly haven consisting of five completely self-contained, hand crafted and cosily furnished, yurts, 2 wooden and 3 canvas all sleeping 4-6 people, with private facilities and containing everything you need to sit back, pour a glass of your favourite tipple, and simply relax!

As its name suggests, Wye Glamping is close to Hay-on-Wye – known as ‘the town of books’ – perfectly situated on the border of the Brecon Beacons National Park, meaning fantastic views of the Black Mountains, friendly wildlife, soothing sounds of birdsong and gentle babbling from the nearby stream are all assured.

Electricity-free, with gas fridges for food refrigeration and eco-friendly composting toilets, Wye Glamping is proud to offer a glamping experience that cares for the natural environment, as well as providing you with an idyllic opportunity to leave everyday life far behind while you reconnect with nature, in your own private space.

You’ll find a stay at Wye Glamping is a far cry from sleeping on the thin, rain-dampened sheets that are such a traditional stalwart of camping life! Instead, snuggle up under a downy duvet, on a comfy mattress while a wood-burning stove warms your toes – bliss! There are plenty of rugs and cushions scattered around for a homely feeling of relaxation.

Each one has a separate – sheltered – kitchen area to prepare a hearty breakfast before you head out for the day, and later on why not treat yourselves to a warming barbecue, swapping holiday stories as you sip wine al-fresco? The private shower rooms are a welcome sight after a hard day exploring the area, for that ‘five-star hotel’ feeling with all the freedom of a natural outdoor life built right in.

The beautifully handcrafted wooden yurts each contain a kingsize bed and two singles sleeping up to 4 adults plus 2 small children (extra beds on request). ‘Bramble’ is situated along the hedgerow, offering wonderful views and a perfect spot for stargazing! Whereas Holly is in a magical woodland setting overlooking the stream. Both have polished floorboards, a warming wood burning stove. We can just imagine sitting round the fire pit and listening to the relaxing sounds of nature. The wooden yurts have sole use of the two luxury shower rooms just a short walk away.
