Writer’s Retreat is the ideal Welsh hideaway for two people looking to detox from a digital life for a while and reconnect, indulging in nature and plenty of natural creativity along the way!

So inspirational a place is the welcoming cabin, handcrafted from local timber and featuring soothing natureful views all around, that it was the setting chosen by Robert Penn when he wrote his well-known book, ‘The Man Who Made Things Out of Trees’.

You’ll find this stunning retreat beautifully off the beaten track, with a babbling stream nearby that you’ll be able to hear, along with plenty of charming birdsong, right from the comfort of your new holiday home… what a way to begin your blissful break!  Perhaps get started on planning that novel with a daydreaming session in the hammock by the stream?

The cabin blends in perfectly with its fresh, wooded valley surroundings, and inside you’ll discover plenty of imaginative, hand-made furnishings and finishings made by its owner from native ash wood, including quirky coat rails.

Featuring large windows that let in plenty of light, you’ll find a cosily sociable living space that also features a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, ideal for enjoying romantic feasts surrounded by the most stunning views imaginable.

A woodburner provides the perfect place to warm your toes by evening (accompanied by a glass of something lovely, of course!) as you while away your holiday hours catching up on life with your loved one. Why not take advantage of the traditional board games and books thoughtfully provided?

Al-fresco dining and conversation is taken to a whole new level with the spacious oak decking, complete with comfy furniture, the aforementioned hammock and a traditional woodburning chiminea. Enjoy soothing rustic valley views, and later on gaze up at the stars as they appear in the clear night sky – who needs a television, anyway!
