Discover an 18th century Lancashire retreat with original features and cosy accommodation spread across six circular floors, surrounded by picture-perfect rural views

Secluded in the agricultural village of Holmeswood, Windmill on the Farm is a unique, chocolate-box Lancashire retreat that sleeps up to eight lucky guests.

Constructed from brick in the 18th century, the traditional tower windmill cuts a striking dash amongst the rural landscape.  Its elegant conversion in the 1980s kept many original features, including flagstone floors, brick fireplaces, and beamed ceilings, to evoke a peaceful sense of travelling back in time.

Of course, you’ll also enjoy plenty of modern holiday conveniences, including a utility room with a washer/dryer, a kitchen packed with gleaming appliances, and a second-floor TV nook with snuggly chesterfield sofas.

Keep heading up the spiral staircase to access the bedrooms, which include a superking, two doubles, and a twin, all boasting superlative views.  There’s a small balcony to help you admire the rural scenery and wildlife, too.

If you’ve brought the kids (big kids included!), there’s a large lawned area for them to let off some playful energy.  The village of Burscough is just a few miles away; ideal for shopping or whiling away some time in a traditional country pub.

What else?  Jump in the car to nearby Southport for beachside attractions, or stay closer to home and meet new friends at the Windmill Animal Farm, for fun days out that everyone can enjoy.
