Peacefully secluded just a few miles from the bustling County Durham market town of Bishop Auckland and the North Pennines AONB, Wear Valley Treehouse is a family-friendly retreat that’s brimming with rustic luxury.

Primed for grand entrances, a bespoke metal bridge will lead you straight into the welcoming haven, which sleeps up to six guests in three cosy bedrooms: superking, kingsize, and double.

The large, warm-toned living area boasts toasty underfloor heating, a stone fireplace with a feature wood-burner, and incredible Wear Valley views from every window.  There’s a Smart TV ready and waiting for relaxed evening entertainment, and a solid oak dining table to break bread around (with an on-site ice-cream parlour on hand for dessert!)

Meanwhile, generous facilities include a well-equipped kitchen with a range-style oven and a preparation island, and an en-suite rainfall shower with each bedroom – so there’ll be no awkward morning queues.

Curl up with a book in the opulent mezzanine lounge, with its two comfy sofas flanked by scenery-showcasing windows.  Or if the sun happens to be shining, pop open a bottle of fizz and take some snacks out to the south-facing balcony, which overlooks the garden and pond.
