Elevated 600 feet above sea level, and boasting a history that spans over 3,000 years, the sleepy Hampshire village of Medstead looks and feels like a rural time capsule.
Soothing green countryside is peppered with intriguing historic artefacts, including Roman pottery, an elegant Norman church, and an Iron Age fort.
It’s amongst this captivating backdrop that you’ll discover the lovingly crafted Wagon and the Wigwam, a beautifully peaceful and imaginative space for two, nestled in a lush, spacious garden that’s surrounded by diverse flora and fauna.
The creative brainchild of friendly owner Ralph (who also likes to be on hand to welcome his guests personally wherever possible), the hand-built wagon is your cosy setting for lounging and snoozing… complete with exquisite stained-glass windows, a stargazing lounge, and a gorgeous glass wall that looks out across the fields.
In fact, the level of care and hand-crafted detail throughout is truly mesmerising. There’s a tree that features ornamental birds and soft fairy lights, and a dining table crafted from a tree, while the old-fashioned record player lets you set the perfect mood, as you gaze up at the stars in wonder.
As if that wasn’t quite enough, the wigwam is gainfully equipped with a hand-made sunken hot tub that’s festooned with jets and underwater lights, and heated by a roaring, romantic log burner.
Keep the doors closed, or throw them open to invite that soothing rural backdrop inside as you soak.

More information
The intricate attention to detail doesn’t end here, either. Even the loo is a work of fascination, with its wine cork wall – Ralph insists that the corks aren’t all his own! – while the indulgent double shower features a charming stained-glass window.
There are full kitchen facilities, including an oven and two hobs, though you may prefer heading out of doors for a sizzling barbecue supper in the huge garden. You’ll have plenty to keep your gaze occupied there, since bees, birds, butterflies and assorted wildlife are actively encouraged to pay regular visits.
And with a ready supply of hot drinks on hand – including hot chocolate and marshmallows, of course! – it will be hard to resist the temptation to grab a blanket and light a crackling campfire, as the stars make their first appearance in the night sky.
When you finally head inside for bed, you’ll have the option of closing the curtains against the glass wall, or leave them open, for the morning sunrise to nudge you gently awake.
