Vintage Horse Van
- Sleeps: 2
- Bedroom: 1
- Bathroom: 1
- Minimum stay: 2 nights
Vintage Horse Van was once a horse-drawn caravan, now stationed inside its own rustic Dutch barn for a special couples’ getaway in the Ceredigion countryside, just under 10 miles from bustling New Quay.
Cosy elements include a curved wooden ceiling, vintage décor, and a wood-burner to warm evenings spent snuggled up with a bottle of wine. For mealtimes, there’s a kitchen/diner in the barn, just down the caravan steps, together with a futon sofa for lazy lounging.
(There’s a handy shower room here, too, so you needn’t step outside all holiday long if you decide not to!).
If the summer sun is shining, cook outside on the barbecue and toast marshmallows on the firepit instead, before watching the stars emerge from the comfort of your wood-fired, Finnish-made soaking tub… bliss.
Although the retreat is perfectly private, shared site facilities include breezy farm walks and nature trails (with free welly hire if needed!) – ideal if you’ve brought your dog along for a well-deserved break. There’s also a clay pizza oven with dining space for hire, and a games barn to help while away rainy afternoons.
Venturing further afield? Take a scenic stroll along the Ceredigion Coast Path, or delight in the nearby National Trust Llanerchaeron Estate, with its walled garden and ornate Georgian villa, feeling like you’ve stepped into the pages of a romantic novel.
